Atlanta Widowed Group: Soaring Spirits Atlanta

The goal of the Atlanta regional group of the non-profit, Soaring Spirits International, is to connect widowed people in the metro area for peer support. We meet twice a month at different locations to share meals or activities and friendship, understanding and, yes, even laughter. (Currently, we are exclusively on Zoom due to the pandemic.)

We understand you are grieving the loss of the person with whom you believed you’d spend the rest of your life. You are not alone. We get it. This group is run by widowed people – we have been there, we understand, and we care. All local widowed people are welcome. That includes anyone who has lost their life partner to death. That invitation is extended regardless of race, age, gender, marital status (at the time of loss or now), sexual orientation, religion or any other characteristic.

• Sponsorship: A regional group of the nonprofit, Soaring Spirits International (www.sslf.org)
• Inclusive: All who have lost their life partner to death are welcome. You do not need to have participated in any of Soaring Spirits’ other programs to join.
• Secular: While members are free to relate their own experiences, we do not promote or put focus on any religion.
• Social: Our events are social gatherings through which we can give and gain support. This is not a dating group, however.
